HISTORY OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF WEST SPRINGFIELD
Our club was founded on April 16, 1980 as the Springfield Breakfast Rotary Club with 25 members and met at the Springfield Howard Johnson's. The Club name was changed on December 18, 1996 to West Springfield Rotary Club. Three charter members still attend our weekly meetings.
In 1982, the club moved to a meeting facility at the Hunter Motel. Early in 1984 the Club began meeting at the Springfield Golf and Country Club where it still meets for breakfast followed by a timely program every Wednesday morning (excluding holidays) from 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. on the second floor. The Springfield Golf and Country Club is located on Old Keene Mill Road just east of the intersection of Old Keene Mill Road and Rolling Road.
