Rich is a member of Southern Frederick County Rotary, Frederick County, Maryland; One of 5 Clubs in Frederick County, comprising of 25% of membership of 61 Clubs and 4 Satellites in District 7620 of Central Maryland and Washington DC.
Rich is a past President of two Clubs: the Johnson County Rotary Club of Overland Park, Kansas (2000) and Southern Frederick County Rotary Club in Frederick Maryland (2011). Combining Kansas and Frederick, Rich is entering his 27th year as an active member of Rotary.
Rich has held most Club Avenues of Service positions and District 7620 Membership and Foundation Chairs, including leadership in major fundraising. Rich was the founder of the Frederick Rotary Pro Am and within 3 years raising over $101,000 after expenses. One other event of note, Rich was the project co-leader and chair of fundraising with net funds to support an unprecedented $1,000,000 in OTC pharmaceuticals and medical supplies that were airlifted through Heart to Heart International to Mother Teresa in Calcutta, India. Rich has also been a member of a Rotary International humanitarian mission to El Progresso, El Salvador to work with Action for Water & Education Foundation.
Rich is a Rotary Major Donor, Paul Harris Society Member, Sustaining Paul Harris Fellow, Bequest Society member, Rotary Benefactor and graduate of Rotary Leadership Institute.
Rich is a 10-year veteran Navy Hospital Corpsman and retired after 35 total years as a healthcare executive. Following healthcare, Rich served 10 years as a non-profit executive.
Rich is married to Susan also a fellow Rotarian, Past President and current District 7620 Chair of Rotary Youth Exchange Programs. They have been married 34 years. Susan is a Healthcare Senior Executive with Adventist Healthcare, Inc. in Maryland. They have three daughters Rebecca, Monica & Victoria and four grandchildren. Youngest daughter Victoria is a Paul Harris Fellow, member of the Federal City Rotary Club, past 2-term Interact President, a past member of the Board of Directors of North American RYLA, a graduate of Maryland University with majors in English & French and minor in Law in Society, and currently attends Law school at George Mason University Law School.
