2017-18 District 7620

Change in awarding of District Grants

I am happy to announce the following changes to the awarding of District Grants for the upcoming year. The changes were done to develop equity in awards and to encourage club growth. In addition, these new rules will very much favor clubs working with other clubs to achieve a greater leverage for grant dollars.

Here is how it will work:

  1. The dollar cap on awards will be removed and replaced with a maximum request from a club of 25% of their previous year’s contribution to the annual fund. This represents each clubs actual vested interest in the gifts that were made.
  2. Club partnering will not be limited to three clubs and all partnering clubs may use all or part of their share of the grant pool.
  3. Matching will continue to be based on a dollar for dollar basis toward the grant.
  4. These rules will be evaluated based on number of requests during the first six months of the Rotary year.
  5. Grant amount eligibility still requires 100.00 per-capita(member).
  6. Clubs must b in good standing with no outstanding reports with The Rotary Foundation or the Districts and club dues must not be in arrears.

I will make availability a chart of eligible amounts prior to the Grant’s Forum. I realize that some club’s give more heavily towards the close of the year and so a final award amount will be based on June 30th figures.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Andrew Baum PDG 01/02

District Rotary Foundation Chair
